Xin’s signature steamboat
Longing for nourishing but filling food? This July, taste the exciting flavours of Xin’s signature steamboat which our regular diners have savoured and raved about. A steamboat is really a hotpot that is a standard in East Asia. It involves a huge pot of gumbo soup where meats, seafood as well as vegetables are dipped to get cooked for a few minutes. Xin Cuisine at Concorde Hotel Kuala Lumpur allows guests to choose clear porridge, supreme, pork and peppercorn or tom yam as the soup base. Afficionadoes of various kinds of seafood, meat and veggies will also be delighted as there are plenty to choose from. Meats in steamboat buffets can comprise pork slices or fish fillet. As for the vegetables, diners take in quite a lot of mushrooms like shimeji, abalone mushrooms and fresh mushrooms. There are soft beancurd, deep-fried beancurd skin, spinach, wanton, dumpling, spinach and young cabbage. Other elements are rice vermicelli and fish ball. Dipping sauces to complete your steamboat experience are usually made of oyster sauce, soy sauce, red chillies, sugar, lime juice, sesame oil, vinegar and salt. The steamboat experience is at RM38 per person (min of two persons). For reservations, call 03-2144 2200.
Durian Mille Crepe
Lobby Lounge is bringing a flare of the European culture into its cake of the month for July. Crepe (known in France), Pannkaka (known in Sweden) or Crespella (known in Italy) have been traditionally served since the ancient times of the Renaissance. Combining daily ingredients like flour, eggs, milk, butter and a pinch of salt, this batter is then cooked in thin layers, like pancakes. Multiple crepe layers are then stacked, sandwiched between layers of durian cream filling and lightly dusted with icing sugar and garnished with fresh strawberries. Available at Grand Seasons Hotel throughout July, the Durian Mille Crêpe is priced at RM7 per slice or RM68 for the whole cake. This little cozy corner cafe serves a wide range of tempting and delicious cakes and slices alongside selection of sandwiches, loaves and freshly baked pastries. The beverage offerings include flavoured teas and herbal infusions, gourmet coffees, fruit juices, aerated drinks as well cocktails. For reservations, call 03-2697 8888 ext. 8819, fax at 03-2694 8822 or e-mail fb@grandseasons.com
