KOTA BAHARU: A housewife was seriously injured on Sunday after being kicked by a man who snatched her bag as she rode a motorcycle while traveling to visit her daughter in Kampung Lundang.
Kota Baharu District Police Chief ACP Mohd Azham Othman said the victim, Rohimah Che Dolah, 44, broke her left hand and suffered injuries on her head and lip after falling during the 7.15am incident.
"The victim was now unconscious when she was brought to Raja Perempuan Zainab II Hospital for treatment and she is now in stable condition," he told reporters.
He said Rohimah was traveling alone on her motorcycle to visit her pregnant daughter when two men on a motorcycle approached her from the rear.
The pillion rider pulled her bag from her motorcycle basket, though she managed to hold onto it, leading to a struggle. "In the scuffle, the victim was punched by the pillion rider and kicked," he said. The victim was flung to the ground.
Mohd Azham said the victim received several stitches on her mouth, eyebrow and head. She reported losing RM83 in cash as well as important documents. -BERNAMA
