Mind-blowing
GEORGE TOWN: Two women were bundled into a car and dumped 10km from where they were abducted at a petrol station in Jalan Masjid Negeri here.
Sources said they appeared dazed and could not recall how they ended up in Batu Maung and what had happened to them during the four hours they were held captive after being dragged into the car at about 5am yesterday.
The two, both in the 20s, reported they lost a few hundred ringgit and three handphones to their captors.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Gan Kong Meng said the two women had a few drinks earlier and had stopped at the petrol station to use the toilet.
He said a closed-circuit television camera (CCTV) image showed the women going into the toilet at about 3.30am.
Three men came along some 90 minutes later and dragged the victims out from the toilet, bundled them back into their car and drove off.
Eyewitnesses who saw the incident called the volunteer patrol unit, leading to a search for the women.
A police forensic team was later seen lifting fingerprints and looking for clues from the victims' car at the Jelutong police station.
One of the victims spent about 30 minutes at the station to give her statement.
ACP Gan said the police have classified the case as robbery.
